You’re invited to two days of startup madness in New York City. Check out last year’s video for a taste of what’s coming up.
On Friday, November 6th we’ll tour 5 of NYC’s hottest startups, small and large. This year, we’ll be targeting specific vertical including tech, media & marketing, and social entrepreneurship. Check out our list of companies below!
On Saturday, November 7th, we’ll meet with alumni in small panels and hands-on workshops to have real-talk about life as an entrepreneur in the Big Apple. We’ll also meet student entrepreneurs from Columbia University to build your peer network.
We’ll also attend Wahoowa NYC, a happy hour with 100+ UVA students and alumni entrepreneurs.

Venture for America is a fellowship program for recent grads who want to learn how to build a business while making an impact. Fellows get training and spend two years in the trenches of a startup in an emerging city, learning on the job and becoming part of our close-knit network.

Warby Parker is a transformative lifestyle brand with a lofty objective: to offer designer eyewear at a revolutionary price while leading the way for socially conscious businesses. Founded in 2010 and named after two characters in an early Jack Kerouac journal, Warby Parker believes in creative thinking, smart design, and doing good in the world. For every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need.
Centre for Social Innovation
The Centre for Social Innovation is a coworking space, community, and launchpad for people who are changing the world. We provide our members with the tools, technologies and networks they need to accelerate their success and amplify their impact. Together, we’re building a movement of nonprofits, for-profits, entrepreneurs, artists and activists working across sectors to create a better world.
THINX is a high-tech underwear solution for women with periods. Moreover, THINX is partnered with AFRIpads in Uganda to get millions of girls back in school by funding a pack of washable cloth pads for every pair of THINX underwear sold.
Dig Inn is a restaurant inspired by the seasons. They serve vegetable forward American food, and want to democratize the farm-to-table movement by sourcing high quality food from farmers they know and trust.
CardFlight is a leading provider of mobile payments technology and software for both merchant service providers and mobile app developers. They make it easy for anyone to accept swiped card-present payments on tablets/smartphones with any merchant account.
Alloy is an API for regulated companies to collect and manage customer data from many different sources. Their initial focus is helping financial services companies safely onboard more “good” customers without introducing any more fraud into their systems.
Estimize is an open financial estimates platform which facilitates the aggregation of fundamental estimates from independent, buy-side, and sell-side analysts, along with those of private investors and students.

We’ll leave Thursday evening (Nov 5th) and return Sunday morning (Nov 8th). Trip tickets are $150/student and covers hotels, travel to & from New York, event tickets to our awesome programs, and some meals.
